EASST Partner in Ukraine: Road Safety Support Foundation

In 2012, EASST supported the establishment of Road Safety Support Foundation – a new Ukrainian NGO whose aim is to reduce road deaths in Ukraine.

With support from Road Safety Support Foundation and EASST, a team of fire fighters from Kent Fire and Rescue Service travelled to Ukraine in July 2012 to donate much-needed equipment and training to the town of Korosten.  In addition to the provision of equipment, the Kent fire fighters provided training to the Ukrainian fire fighters in techniques for rescuing road crash victims. In addition, EASST has supported two successful campaigns in the Ukrainian cities of Odessa and Lviv. In November 2011, EASST provided support to the European Union's TEN-T Programme pilot project focused on both speeding and seat belt wearing.
