On 9th February 2012, EASST hosted Colonel Norik Sargsyan, Head of Enforcement Unit of the Road Traffic Police of the Republic of Armenia, during his visit to London.

With EASST’s Regional Coordinator, Dmitry Sambuk, Colonel Sargsyan visited the Surface Transport and Traffic Operations Centre (STTOC) where he was able to view first-hand the successful partnership between the London Buses Command and Control Centre, the London Streets Traffic Control Centre and the Metropolitan Police Traffic Operation Control Centre, all who operate together under one roof. Their one main goal is to keep London moving 24/7.

Colonel Norik Sargsyan with STTOC Chief Inspector John Salisbury JonesColonel Sargsyan was then briefed by Dmitry on the latest global road safety initiatives, law enforcement and public awareness campaigns.

Dmitry also told Colonel Sargsyan about the many upcoming regional EASST projects and events – namely the presentation of a seat belt slide, to be donated by EASST to Armenia later this spring.
