To coincide with National Driver’s Day in Ukraine on 26th October 2012, EASST’s partner Road Safety Support Foundation launched a blood donation campaign at a hospital in the Ukrainian capital Kiev. The campaign worked to raise awareness of the high number of road deaths in Ukraine and to simultaneously highlight the need for blood donors in the country.
The campaign continued during Road Safety Week in mid-November when Road Police Officers were encouraged to donate – attracting some 4,000 blood donors.
