Within the framework of the 2013 UN Global Road Safety Week, EASST’s Belarusian partner the Belarusian Auto Moto Touring Club (BKA) distributed EASST high visibility materials to families in Minsk to help promote the pedestrian safety messages of the UN Week.

The children aged from 1 to 14 years

The BKA presented EASST high visibility t-shirts and hats to families, as well as reflective signs and information brochures on child safety and traffic rules.  The EASST hats and t-shirts were produced with GLOWkids – a UK company producing fun, high visibility clothing for children. The t-shirts and hats are being used by EASST’s partners across Central Asia, Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus during their child visibility campaigns.

Marking International Children’s Day 2013

Activities in this area continued on 1st June 2013 to mark International Children’s Day. In cooperation with the Road Traffic Police, the BKA took part in celebrations in Gorky Park holding a stall with competitions for children and their families. Children were awarded with reflective stickers for their participation plus a ruler printed with traffic rules. Both parents and children were given leaflets on ‘How to Behave on the Road’ and were able to ask question and raise concerns with the BKA team.
