EASST Advisor and Director of EASST Partner NGO “Road Safety” Chinara Kasmambetova has become a member of the Personnel Selection Commission of the Traffic Police, Ministry of Internal Affairs, of the Kyrgyz Republic. Chinara joins the commission following recommendation by the Traffic Police and is the commission’s civil society representative.
Chinara participated in the first meeting of the Personnel Selection Commission on 13th May 2015. She noted that questions regarding traffic regulations were completely absent from the selection processes for traffic police recruitment. Several Commission members agreed with Chinara that this key topic should not be excluded from the traffic police recruitment process.
Chinara continues to promote road safety in her work with the Traffic Police and others in order to reduce road deaths in Kyrgyzstan. More information on her activities can be found here
