In autumn of 2012, EASST’s Georgian partner the Partnership for Road Safety Foundation conducted a road safety education program for pupils of the 2nd Public School of Abkhazia at the invitation of Ministry of Education and Culture of Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia.

The Partnership for Road Safety Foundation provided booklets, reflectors and bracelets as part of their road safety lesson which included interactive sessions on the rules of the road and the use of seat belts and child restraints.

The school received books and posters from the Foundation containing information on traffic rules for children. In addition, children from 3th-6th grades and 7th-12th grades were shown two road safety movies containing key safety messages.

The Foundation plans to introduce these activities to other public schools of Abkhazia as well as to a school in Tbilisi where children from Abkhazia study.
