On 20th October 2012, the fourth Jeep Trial Cross Championship took place at the Schinoasa track in the Moldovan capital Chisinau with the participation of 22 teams. In the 3500 cc category the winner was Alexei Curchi. First place was taken by Dumitru Rotari for the over 3500 cc category.
EASST partner The Automobile Club of Moldova (ACM) was invited to the event as a promoter of motor sport and road safety in Moldova. The competition was a good opportunity to highlight the importance of seat belt use among road users and racing car drivers who help to promote the ACM campaign by always wearing a seat belt.
The ACM team provide road safety leaflets to the public and demonstrate the seat belt slide
At the race track, the ACM delivered a demonstration of the Seat Belt Slide device (donated by the FIA Foundation and EASST) that imitates a car crash at a speed of 30 km/h. Race track goers were encouraged to use the Seat Belt Slide and were provided with information on seat belt use.
