EASST is delighted to announce that on 7th August 2013, Serghei Diaconu was appointed as Deputy Minister for Internal Affairs.

Serghei first became an EASST partner in 2009 as President of the Automobile Club of Moldova (ACM). He was then promoted to Advisor to the General Secretary of the Government of Moldova and to Prime Minister Filat. As a result of EASST’s police exchange in 2011, he was given the additional responsibility of leading the reform of the Ministry for Internal Affairs including road policing. In August 2012, Serghei was appointed Head of the Road Traffic Police of Moldova and later Deputy Chief of the Police.
