EASST’s partner organization in the Kyrgyz Republic, ‘Road Safety NGO’, has recently released a new video, “Do not Exceed the Speed” which was produced as part of the TRACECA-II Road Safety project.
The video calls for drivers to not “exceed the speed”. Indeed, not adhering to speed limits is one of the main causes of road traffic collisions in the country and if speed limits were better controlled many road deaths may be avoided.
‘Road Safety NGO’ have also conduced a survey amongst drivers to find out the key reasons for breaking speed limits and violating traffic regulations, the results of which will be distributed across various media platforms. There are also plans to install a speed bump in one area of Bishkek which has high levels of speeding.
The project is being implemented with the support of the EU, the Global Road Safety Partnership, the International Red Cross and the Red Crescent Scoeity , and EASST. Local partners include the City Traffic Police, Department of Capital Construction of Mayor Hall and others.
