New look EASST Academy site with more courses and content for safer roads

Occupational Road Safety Management

Our new look EASST Academy site features new online road safety training and educational resources to help you and your organisation make roads safer.

Road safety training and education is a crucial element of a Safe System approach to ensuring safer roads and zero road deaths. Education and training supports engineering solutions and enforcement policies, encouraging safer road use and raising awareness about road risks and the importance of observing safe road behaviour.

EASST Academy is an online road safety training platform that enables users to access world-class road safety education via industry experts. It is open to policy makers, fleet managers, researchers, educators and anyone in the general public interested in learning more about road safety and sustainable mobility. As it’s online, the courses are available to access 24/7 via laptop, smartphone or tablet. It’s also more affordable than similar traditional classroom style training and you can learn at a time and a pace that suits you.

Partner courses with Johns Hopkins International Injury Research Unit

Our unique educational platform now features two new FREE courses delivered by the Johns Hopkins International Injury Research Unit on Road Traffic Injury Prevention and Control in Low- and Middle-Income Countries and Road Safety Legislation offered jointly with the World Health Organisation (WHO), as well as hosting our Road Safety at Work: Online Course for Managers, which is now also available in Russian.

The course on Road Traffic Injury Prevention and Control in Low- and Middle-Income Countries covers a wide range of topics, from the basics of road traffic injury prevention to setting up injury surveillance systems, evaluating road safety interventions and influencing policy on road traffic injuries. While the course on Road Safety Legislation allows participants to become familiar with developing evidence-based road safety laws and regulations and country-specific examples on how road safety is addressed in the legal sphere.

Library and classroom-based training

You can also access a library of road safety resources produced and collected by EASST Academy and our partners to supplement your learning. Plus you can get in touch if you are interested in organising more formal classroom-based training on occupational road safety management facilitated by Cranfield University.

EASST Road Safety Education Pack

The site also hosts the EASST Road Safety Education Pack, a global teaching resource that provides stimulating and engaging activities to introduce road safety messages and behaviours to kids in an age-appropriate way. The pack has been developed in co-operation with our EASST partners as well as highly experienced UK road safety experts including the UK Government’s Think! Campaign. It has been tailored to reflect the risks, challenges, and conditions in low and middle-income countries.
